Captain Barnacle Garrick was bad natured and horrible, which most pirates would say was good--very good. Augusta Garrick was good natured and helpful, which most pirates would say was bad--very bad.

Barnacle Garrick showed his daughter a section of the treasure map. "Scully is crafty. So he'll findz the booty before them cats." Augusta leaned in closer. "He's nimble too. He'll sneak past them Tuna Lubbers on Crossbones Island. But most important, me lassy, Scully is fearless. He'll pillage them doubloons and bring 'em back to our ship--right where they needz to be."

"Frosty is a stupid name for a snowman. At least that’s what Jenny Whitehouse thinks. It’s like naming a dog Furry. Or naming a fish Wetty. Or naming a slug Slimy.
Jenny’s snowman deserves a good name. No, a great name."

"What should we do for fun?" asked Reg.
"I know!" said Burt. "We can go for a bug hunt! You love those, Keely."
"No, Burt," said Keely. "The bugs are getting ready for winter. We can't bother them. See, autumn ruins everything!"
"If we can't go on a bug hunt, maybe we can go on a treasure hunt!" said Shawna.
"That does sound exciting," agreed Keely. "But we don't have a treasure map."

Pencil and Jackson were best friends. They went everywhere together. They scribbled and sketched. They played mustache, airplane, and parade. They had lots of fun until... Tablet moved in.

And then Perfect Man quit. Just like that."

"Look down there. We can swim, play in the sand, climb trees, roll in the grass. It's perfect," Wally said.
"It's a golf course," Nobu told him.
"Let's go," Wally said.
"We can't just go," Nobu said. "It's a golf course."
"So?" said Robyn. "Look at that cool, cool water."
"And those shady green tree," Justin added.
"What more could we want?" Wally asked.
"Gold clubs?" Nobu suggested. "A tee time?"

The ball hit the road and the game was on.
Once the game started, time stopped for me.
For all of us.
We played. And played. And played.
And were they good! I never saw a pro handle a puck the way these kids handled an old red ball.

"Hey," Keely said to her brother, Reg. "This is a good day for a bug walk!"
"What is it with you and bugs?" he asked. "Rocks are so much better."
Keely got a serious look on her face and started to sing,
"Rocks are boring, rocks are dead.
Reg has rocks in his head."
"Rocks don't do anything," she said with a sniff.
"That’s why I like them," Reg said. "They don't fly away, they don't bite and they last a long time."

Eldridge Elwell skated into the Grizzlie's zone.
He fell.
He got up. He chased the Grizzlies' center.
He fell. He got up.
"The new player doesn't look that good," Johnny said. He wasn't being mean. He was just stating it like a fact.
"Yes," Tom said, "he needs some different equipment."
"What equipment?" Johnny asked.
"He needs a pillow on his butt," Tom said.
